Comedy box-sets recommended
1st October 2010

Britons keen to catch-up on their favourite television series may want to enter online auctions for DVD box-sets following one website's recommendations of some of the best comedies to purchase.
A Stuff article notes that The Big Bang Theory - which stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco - is not only a "geek-friendly show", but is "about as clever as mainstream US sitcoms".
The first three series of the sitcom are currently available to buy as a box-set.
However, those looking to enter penny auctions for DVD box-sets may also be interested in The IT Crowd.
"After a shaky first series this geeky sitcom quickly found its feet by combining likeable characters with comedy that ranges from broad to winkingly nerdy," the site claims, with Flight of the Conchords among the other comedies people are advised to watch on box-set.
Comedy fans may also want to enter penny auctions for DVD box-sets of the Inbetweeners. The Guardian recently reported that last Monday's (September 27th) episode of the teen sitcom screened on e4 attracted 2.28 million viewers.
By entering online auctions, people can catch up on their favourite shows for a fraction of boxsets' recommended retail value
