Council tax freeze expected

21st June 2010

Notes

Chancellor George Osborne is widely expected to announce a freeze on council tax increases in the emergency Budget on June 22nd.

According to government figures, this could save the average household living in a band D property more than £200 per year.

It is believed that the new coalition government has taken the step to counter the raft of tax rises and spending cuts that set to be unveiled in the Budget speech on Tuesday.

An increase in capital gains tax and VAT are among the measures expected to be taken by the new chancellor.

If you want to boost your bank balance ahead in preparation for the tax changes that may come into force, why not enter an online auction for cash?

You could win up between £20 and £100 by placing a bid of as little as 50 pence when you enter one of the online auctions offered by Quick2bid.
