Motorcyclists 'need to have right kind of satnav'
4th August 2010

Motorcyclists should make sure that they have a satnav designed specifically for their type of vehicle, one blogger has stated.
Writing on the Gadgets Blog, Nicola noted that motorcycle satnavs need to have certain features that are not necessary in systems used for cars.
"These kinds of navigators will need to be waterproof and they will need to have the proper mount to make sure they are properly secure at all times," she explained.
If you want a new satnav then one option could be to enter online auctions to win such a gadget.
The blog noted that motorcycle satnavs make journeys "simple", however, the writer cautioned people about using out of date navigation systems, which can make life more difficult.
Wrong turns and longer routes are among the problems that can occur if the satnav system doesn't have the latest road maps installed.
Entering online auctions for satnavs could be one way of updating the technology you use in either your car or motorbike.
At penny auction site Quick2bid you could pick up a TomTom One IQ Routes edition satnav for a fraction of the recommended retail price.
