New version of iPlayer for PlayStation 3

A new version of the BBC's iPlayer is to be made available for the PlayStation 3 by the end of the year, it has been revealed.
Speaking to TechRadar, Simon Cross from the broadcaster explained that an updated version of the catch-up service is due to be set up for the PlayStation 3 console.
However, he told the website that the BBC is still investigating how to allow PlayStation 3 owners to sign into the application.
"We don't know whether to integrate it with the PSN (PlayStation Network) signing in process or do something new," Mr Cross stated.
The latest version of the BBC iPlayer was unveiled last month, with a number of new features.
Among them are integration with social networking sites Twitter and Facebook, the option to channel hop between the iPlayer's live TV content and the ability set up a favourites list and download these programmes in advance.
