Study shows people changing shopping habits
30th September 2010

While new figures show that a significant number of people are purchasing goods from discount stores in order to save money, entering online auctions could be an effective way to make their cash go further.
Research carried out by price comparison site Gocompare.com reveals that 17 per cent of Britons are opting to buy clothes and shoes from supermarkets and discount stores.
Meanwhile, one-third (32 per cent) are purchasing their groceries from discount retailers, instead of their usual supermarket, in an attempt to save money.
Overall, one out of four people claim that they really need to make cutbacks in order to make ends meet.
However, a recent study by the Confederation of British Industry revealed that 60 per cent of high street retailers saw a rise in sales over the course of September.
Those looking to make their money go further may wish to enter penny auctions for shopping vouchers. In doing so, people can win vouchers to spend at a variety of high street stores and supermarkets for much less than what it would normally cost to buy such coupons.
