People 'need to make most of free time'

As Britons are being urged to make the most of their free time bidding on online auctions for holidays could be an effective way of getting out of the house and trying new experiences.
Lonely Planet's Tom Hall states that while money is one of the reasons behind why people do not go anywhere during their time off, "a lack of inspiration and not knowing what there is to see and do in your area" is the main factor that stops people from going away on days out.
"We are very concerned that people have got lots of time on their hands that they don't quite know what to do with," Mr Hall claims.
However, he points out that with "a little bit of research", it is possible to find a wide variety of things to see and do that are either inexpensive or free.
Such comments follow a study by the travel guide company which revealed one-fifth of people claim the main reasons why they do not go on more days out is due to a lack of ideas about where to go.
By entering online auctions for holidays, people could find that they can save even more money on the cost of going away.
