New PlayStation console 'in development'

Sony are currently in the process of designing their next games console to take over from the PlayStation 3.
While online auctions for PlayStation 3 consoles are attracting some internet users, Shuhei Yoshida, head of Sony Worldwide Studios, explained that the firm is in the development stage for a new console.
Speaking to Develop magazine, Mr Yoshida admitted: "We are undergoing many activities that we haven't yet been talking about in public. Some future platform related activities."
He added that, with former Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi having left the company, a new philosophy of allowing developers to make the most of the technology will be a big part of any new devices.
The PlayStation 3 was released in 2006 and was one of the first games consoles to offer online game play.
