Sample overseas vegetarian cuisine

28th September 2010

Foodies looking to expand their culinary horizons may want to consider entering online auctions for holidays in order to sample vegetarian cuisine from across the world.

With World Vegetarian Day taking place this Friday (October 1st), Skyscanner reports that India is "arguably the world's finest vegetarian destination".

Noting that around two-fifths of Indians do not eat meat, the firm claims that "there is an abundance of delicious vegetarian fare on offer across this huge country".

However, people entering penny auctions may want only want to travel within Europe and if this is the case then Ghent, Belgium, could be a great destination for vegetarians.

Skyscanner reports that each Thursday every restaurant in the city offers at least one vegetarian dish.

Regardless of whether people are vegetarians or love tucking into steaks and hamburgers by entering online auctions for holidays, the cost of getting away from it all can be much less than when booking through a high street travel agent.

Earlier this month, Eunice Yeo, area director of northern and western Europe for the Singapore Tourism Board, claimed that the variety of "sights, sounds, tastes, culture and attractions" in the country make it an ideal destination for holidaymakers.
