Brits 'need to update satnavs'

5th August 2010

A new survey has revealed that two-thirds of Brits admit that they regularly get lost while driving.

The research released by Ordnance Survey also found that 38 per cent of respondents pretend to know the route they are taking, even when they have no idea.

Although many of the people polled stated that maps are the best way to find directions, the organisation warned that using out of date maps can add to the problem.

Rob Andrews, a spokesperson for Ordnance Survey, recommended that people get the "most up-to-date mapping available, whether it's the paper or digital variety".

The company noted that four in ten people have never updated the mapping on their satnav - which means that they could be more likely to get lost while driving.

If you struggle with directions or want to improve your satnav system then you could enter penny auctions to win satnavs.

Bidding in online auctions, such as those offered by Quick2bid, provides you with an opportunity to update your satnav without breaking the bank.
