Turkey 'offers plenty to do in the winter'

11th October 2010

Despite its popularity as a destination for summer vacations, those looking to enter online auctions for holidays this winter may want to consider heading to Turkey.

A spokesperson for the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office UK states that the country's dramatic landscapes and geographical position means that "there is also plenty on offer for winter adventure".

Noting that Turkey's altitude during the November to April ski season is "on a par with the Alps and American Rockies", she claims that people will have the chance to take part in activities such as skiing and snowboarding.

"Most of Turkey's ski resorts are nestled within forested mountains, providing a stunning setting and breathtaking views for your winter holiday," she adds.

Indeed, people who are keen to enter penny auctions for holidays in order to go to Turkey could be interested to note that the Conde Nast Traveller 12th Annual Readers' Travel Awards saw Turkey named as people's favourite holiday destination.
