Avatar beats DVD rental and sales records

29th April 2010

As the biggest box office hit ever, Avatar was never likely to be released to DVD without a fuss.

The James Cameron epic sold more than four million DVD copies and a further 2.7 million Blu-Ray copies in its first four days on release, with the adventure movie also topping the rental charts, The Hollywood Reporter revealed.

With millions of movie fans around the world flocking to stores to buy the DVD, some of you may want to beat the crowds when it comes to future releases.

If you'd rather see films in the comfort of your own home without the hassle of having to visit a busy store, then why not enter online auctions for DVD rental subscriptions?

You could win a year's subscription to LOVEFiLM by bidding as little as 50p in a penny auction from Quick2bid.

Get access to the latest film releases, like Avatar and Crazy Heart, as well as old favourites such as The Shawshank Redemption or Goodfellas.

With more than 65,000 titles to choose from, you'll be able to find a film to suit your mood.
